AUSSIE GREENPLUMBERS TO EASE IMPACT OF CALIFORNIAN WATER CRISIS

Following the declaration yesterday of the first statewide drought in 16 years by Californian Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, GreenPlumbers USA is now well-placed to implement Australian water conservation practices to the drought-stricken community.

“In this unfortunate time of crisis, Americans are looking to Australians for help and we are able to give them this through our GreenPlumber network,” said CEO of GreenPlumbers and Group Managing Director of Green Invest, Mr Ian McMillan.

Schwarzenegger’s announcement included an executive order to the California Department of Water Resources to speed water transfers to areas with the most severe shortages and assist local water districts with water conservation efforts.

“The actions instructed by Governor Schwarzenegger are a perfect reflection of the beliefs and practices GreenPlumbers have been spreading in all of our training workshops this year. Most Americans have never even heard of rainwater tanks but this drought declaration will raise awareness of water saving initiatives - the timing is therefore ideal for these to be installed,” said Ian.

“We have a built-in advantage in the United States because we are implementing a superior, proven product thanks to our Australian partners,” said Licensing Director of GreenPlumbers USA, Ms. Megan Lehtonen.

GreenPlumbers USA is an initiative of GreenPlumbers Australia, a leading Australian environmental products and installation business 100% wholly owned by Green Invest Limited (ASX:GNV).

Last week, GreenPlumbers’ ‘metro city challenge’, where the aim was to hold ten workshops in ten American cities in the one week, proved that GreenPlumbers was well on its way to meeting its target of training 4,000 US plumbers this calendar year. The workshops were also attended by City, Union and Government officials.

“Our ‘metro city challenge’ was met with overwhelming success, with 290 people trained in seven cities,” said Megan.

GreenPlumbers will hold a second ‘metro city challenge’ in September this year.

With the dry conditions causing damage to crops, harming water quality and triggering extreme fire danger across the whole state of California, GreenPlumbers can now leverage off its success last week in the “metro city challenge” by rounding up its recruits to assist Californians with water conservation practices.

“Several communities are already requiring water conservation to combat this very serious situation and who better to step in than GreenPlumbers?” said Ian.
